Walking Trails BROADFORD ASHFORD WALKING TRAILS
The Mullaghareirk Mountain range is situated on the borders of Cork and Limerick. This majestic landscape of rolling hills and open farmland is ideal walking terrain. There are 8 walks in all most of which are looped walks – walks that start and finish at the same place. Each route has been carefully selected to include at least one of the mountain peaks with the best scenery and interesting pathways. The walks will introduce the visitor to the many natural springs, bird life, wildlife, bogs and historical sites to be enjoyed. The length of the walks range from 1km to 20km and cover a variety of terrain from open farmland and forest paths to quiet country roads. All of the routes are signposted. The walks include the local villages of Broadford and Ashford which nestle at the foot of the mountains.
