Family records of the farm go back to 1685 when the farm was purchased. Glenview Lodge is recorded on the ordnance survey sheet printed in the 1840s and is recorded as partly in ruins in the 1900 map. Restoration work has taken place in 1924 and 2005. The house has been renovated with care and retains the character of a house of its period. The integrity of the house and garden has been respected in the restoration work.  The house is part of the small family farm where hay and silage are harvested during the year.
